Virtually, all you need is one frying pan. Yellow tail teriyaki is very easy to cooking and goes well with boiled rice!!

***Ingredients: (serves 2)***

  • 2 fillets Japanese yellowtail
  • A sauce (1 Tbsp sake, 2Tbsp soy sauce)
  • 2 vinegar-pickeled ginger shoots
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sake
  • B sauce (1 tsp sugar, 1 1/2 Tbsps soy sauce, 2 Tbsps mirin sweet cooking sake)

1. Sork the Japanese yellowtail fillets in a A mixture for about 10 minutes.

2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan, and fry the fillets. Always cook first the side of fish that will face up when served. When it goes browned, turn over, cover the pan and fry the other side over a low heat.

3. Mix the ingredients of B to make the teriyaki sauce.

4. Remove excess oil from the frying pan used in 2. above with a paper kkitchen towel. Put the sauce into the pan, and simmer the sauce while coating the fish with the sauce thoroughly.

5.Arrange the filles on plates, and garnish with vinegar-pickled ginger shoots.



*Use only a small amount of vegitable oil because fat will exude from the fish.
*To eliminate the odor from the Japanese yellowtail, sprinkle salt on the fillets to remove moisture and wipe the surface before cooking.
